Here’s a fun Friday fact …
Did you know that, in times of old, carving pumpkins was considered a way of keeping evil spirits at bay? It’s true, and it wasn’t only pumpkins! In some of the colder climates, pumpkins weren’t available, so they would carve turnips. These fierce little faces were used as apotropaic charms to ward off evil spirits and keep the household safe on All Hallows Eve. It is also said that when the flame of the candle within flickers, a spirit is near. Ooooooo! 😉
Wishing you all a spectacular weekend,
Sheri
P.S. Don’t forget to carve your pumpkin!
