Angelic Astrology – April 2018

In this month of April, the highlight is that three planets will turn direction….Mercury, planet of the mind, Saturn, ruler of karmic lessons, and Pluto, the Great Transformer. This redirection will intensify the energy of the planet through the “lens” of the sign in which it is in. We will talk about this more as we move through the astrological energies of the month. But, first, let’s look at the numerology vibration for April.

April is a 15/6 Universal Month vibration. The reduced digit 6 tells us that this will be a month that will focus on home and family matters, as well as the balance between work in the outer world and circumstances with loved ones in our inner world. The number 6 is an emotional number so paying attention to our feelings and healing our emotional body is also highlighted.

The 15^th Major Arcana In the tarot is The Devil. This does not refer to an actual entity, but an energy of “the shadow” within us. The Devil is ruled by the sign Capricorn and is about fear, unresolved desires, materialism, control, and procreative power. It is about a loss of faith in ourselves and others. According to the book, “Essence of the Tarot” by Megan Skinner, a simple definition of this card is “burning through fear.” We must accept the “shadow” within ourselves….it is love that will diffuse this energy. It is a time to release fear-based behaviors, including addictions, obsessions, and judgments. As we do, we are allowing ourselves to move forward on our spiritual journey and in our evolution and growth.

The first astrological energy of significance is Mars, the Warrior, connecting with Saturn, Lord of Karma, in Capricorn on April 2^nd. Mars likes to push and move forward, but as he conjuncts Saturn there may be a temporary stall of forward momentum occurring. However, this is a good energy to work towards your goals with patience and take the steps necessary to build a solid foundation.

There is a lot of activity between April 4^th and 11^th. Mercury, ruler of our thoughts and communications, is challenging Mars and Saturn, which will cause some mental frustration and difficult communications with others. Venus, ruler of the Divine Feminine, will positively connect with Mars and Saturn, however, which should ease some of the previous challenges as long as we use the “Iron Fist in the Velvet Glove” idea of being strong without being aggressive. Lastly, the Sun, our identity, will create a challenging square aspect to Pluto, planet of death and rebirth. This may create some power struggles with others, but it can also bring great transformation and change in circumstances with others and within our own psyches towards the energy of self-empowerment.

We have a New Moon at 26 degrees Aries on April 15^th. Right before this New Moon lunation, in the “dark of the moon” time, Mercury, the Messenger, stations to direct motion at 4 degrees Aries. People may be more emotionally reactive and self-absorbed during this time. Although, once the New Moon energy settles in at 9:57 pm Eastern Time, it will be a time to plant new seeds and birth new directions, as this is the New Moon in the first sign of the zodiac! It is a time to initiate new energies now!

Two days after the New Moon lunation, Saturn, the Great Teacher, turns to retrograde motion at 9 degrees Capricorn. This will, for a few days, intensify the energies of Saturn, although we will be feeling this building up all month as he slows down in movement. Saturn is about lessons, the status quo, patience, discipline, building a solid foundation, and working towards our goals. We may feel restriction and limitation energies start to build before Saturn turns retrograde. It is important to remember the phrase, “Delay is in your best interest” as a way to move through the energy. He will retrograde all the way back to 2 degrees Capricorn before turning back to direct motion on September 6^th. By then, we will have had the opportunity to build the foundation upon which to move forward with our plans.

The third planet to change directions this month is Pluto. He will turn retrograde on April 22^nd at 21 degrees Capricorn. So, like Saturn, this powerful planet changes directions in the sign that rules career, ambition, goals, and recognition. Pluto is the ruler of the subconscious and the underworld and is associated with desires, power, and sexuality, very much like The Devil card that we referred to earlier in this article. As Saturn and Pluto change directions it will intensify their energies and bring up fears within us that need to be recognized and resolved.

On April 24^th Venus, ruler of relationships and finances will move from Taurus into Gemini, sign of the twins. This is a mutable sign and vacillates back and forth in its energies. People may be more fickle in relationships now, and communication is highlighted with others. In money matters, we may have more than one opportunity or direction in which to create abundance. It can also mean that we are less reserved or practical about what we are spending our money on, or how much we are spending.

On April 26^th Mars, planet of energy and action connects with Pluto, planet of power and control. This can indicate explosive energy! People are more assertive now, and that may be putting it mildly. Be aware of those who may abuse their power. This is raw energy….energy of a primal nature and our base instincts may take the lead. Use this energy in a positive way to take your power back and empower yourself at this time!

This leads us to a Full Moon at 9 degrees Scorpio, sign of transformation and transmutation, on April 29^th. Considering the Mars/Pluto conjunction that we just spoke of, this should be a powerful Full Moon lunation. Before the Moon shifts out of Libra and into Scorpio, it will oppose Uranus, the Great Awakener. This may bring about some sudden or unexpected circumstances in relationships with others. However, we also have the Sun in earth sign Taurus creating a positive aspect to Saturn in earth sign Capricorn that can provide some stability to the powerful energies that we have happening at the end of the month.
