Angelic Astrology – September 2018

The eclipses of July and August are now complete and we will now experience, over the next few weeks, the unfolding of the changes and redirections that those lunations have initiated. This month we have planets moving into new signs and other planets changing directions, but before we discuss this let us first take a look at the numerology energy for the month.

The Universal Numerology Energy Vibration for September is 20/2. The single digit of the 2 tells us that this will be a month that focuses on relationships of all kinds, including friends, family, love interests, as well as business partnerships. We will need to compromise and use diplomacy, along with expressing the energies of fairness, balance, and equality. The number 2 also suggests that we need to have patience as we move forward with the new beginnings that may have been initiated in August. We are in the infant stages of growth now and we need to nurture the seeds that we have planted before we see the growth that we are hoping for.

The 20^th Major Arcana in the Tarot is Judgement. It is ruled by the element fire, which burns away and transmutes, and by the planet Pluto, astrological ruler of transformation and regeneration. This card is about death and rebirth, which is often accompanied by challenge. But, sometimes to bring about changes in our lives, we must first be stripped of our current reality. In the book, “Essence of the Tarot” by Megan Skinner it states, “The Judgement card is a call to action…..This card represents a turning point in consciousness; a point where personal will aligns with the higher soul in a quest for truth. A simple definition of this card is conscious rebirth.”

The first astrological energy of significance occurs on September 5^th, with Mercury, the Messenger, moving into one of his ruling signs, Virgo. He will only be in this practical earth sign for 16 days, but while here our mind will be much more detail oriented and logical. It is a good time to make a list of projects to be done or steps to be taken as we move forward on our Path. Virgo likes to be organized so with Mercury here we want our thoughts to be clear and precise. We may have a tendency to pick things apart and analyze them or to be critical, but our powers of discernment are strong with this placement.

On September 6^th authoritative Saturn, the Great Teacher of Karmic Lessons, turns back to direct motion at 2 degrees of Capricorn. As he does so, he is creating a supportive trine aspect to Uranus, the Great Awakener, who is now retrograde in earth sign Taurus. These two planets have both been at 2 degrees of their respective signs since the middle of August and will be so until the middle of this month, although they will be within orb of one another until the end of October. Saturn rules the old, the conservative, and the 3^rd-dimensional energies, and Uranus rules the new, the innovative, and the 5^th-dimensional energies. The connection between the two of them is allowing us an opportunity to release the past and move into a new and better way of living, experiencing, and progressing on our Path. It is up to us to choose the direction that we wish to take now.

The next day, on September 7^th, Mercury, ruler of thoughts and ideas, is creating a Grand Trine in Earth with both Saturn and Uranus. This is supporting us with realizing a new plan that will allow us to accomplish, and eventually manifest, our goals and plans.

On September 8^th, the lovers Venus and Mars, are challenging one another in the last degree of their respective signs Libra and Capricorn. The 29^th degree is considered a critical degree so this, along with the fact that we are in the “Dark of the Moon” time before the New Moon, intensifies the effects of this aspect. As I mentioned, Venus and Mars are considered “the lovers” so with this connection we may see some difficulties in our relationships with others.

The very next day, on September 9^th, beautiful Venus moves into Scorpio where she stays until January 7^th, 2019! This is because of a retrograde movement that she will initiate in early October, where she retrogrades back into her home sign of Libra for a time. With this transit of Venus, ruler of the Divine Feminine, in Libra and Scorpio until January, we will experience a focus on relationships and shared resources, including finances, for the next few months. For this month, Venus in Scorpio will look deeply into her partnerships with others to see if they are meeting her needs. There will also be a focus on shared resources with others and financial situations.

Also on the 9^th, we have a New Moon at 17 degrees of Virgo. This lunation opposes Neptune, ruler of the spiritual realm, at 15 degrees Pisces, trines Pluto, ruler of death and rebirth, at 18 degrees Capricorn, and sextiles Jupiter, planet of expansion, at 18 degrees Scorpio. There is something empowering, and yet elusive, with this New Moon. It is a time of new beginnings where we are to pay attention to the details of our plans and goals and take steps towards bringing those into manifestation, but yet we still need to trust and surrender to the Divine Timing of the process.

Mars, planet of forward movement, moves back into humanitarian Aquarius on September 10^th where he will be until November 15^th. Now that he is in direct motion again we can all finally start to see situations in our lives begin to unfold and manifest in a more timely manner. However, Mars is still in his shadow (before the degree of where he first went retrograde) until October 8^th, so it may not be until mid-October before we see the fruits of our labors.

On September 18^th activator Mars squares off with Uranus, planet of Rebellion. This is a challenging connection and the third time that these two have challenged one another. The first time was on May 16^th, the second time on August 1^st, and now this third and final time will continue to show us what sudden changes, redirections, or surprising energies these two bring. People on, or around, this date will be more reactive, accident-prone, and/or freedom oriented. This can also produce sudden and unexpected events, circumstances, and even weather situations.

Both Mercury and the Sun shift into the sign of Libra on September 21^st and 22^nd. The Sun is the lens through which we shine our Light and Mercury is the ruler of the mental realm, so our focus and thoughts will be on relationships, equality, compromise, and peace-making. Mercury travels through the sign of Libra until October 9^th and the Sun stays in the sign of the scales until October 23^rd.

On September 24^th we have a Full Moon at 2 degrees of Aries. This lunation is opposing Mercury, the Messenger, at 5 degrees of Libra, positively connecting by trine aspect to action-oriented Mars at 3 degrees Aquarius, square (challenging) Saturn, teacher of karmic lessons, at 2 degrees Capricorn, and in a quincunx (aspect of adjustment) to Uranus at 1 degree of Taurus. This is quite a “mixed bag of tricks” as far as the energy is concerned. Full Moons bring about an intense energy, especially to our emotional nature, and then herald a time of endings, releasing and letting go. This one may involve relationship situations, both personal and work-related, and will call to us to shift our perspective about what is occurring and why.

Chiron, the Wounded Healer, has been retrograde in Aries since the first half of July, but on September 26^th he will retrograde back into the sign of Pisces once again, giving us another chance to heal past life wounds on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level. He will stay in retrograde motion until the first half of December, and will not re-enter Aries until February of 2019. This gives us a few months to rebalance and transmute any remaining stuck or imbalanced patterns or belief systems, as well as heal karmic situations or circumstances that are still in need of healing.

We end the month on September 30^th with mighty Pluto, planet of transformation, death, and rebirth, turning back to direct motion at 18 degrees of Capricorn. Once again, on or around this day, we will feel his intensity with a possibility of power and control issues with others, a transmuting of old inner energies or outer circumstances, and the potential of taking the next steps towards empowering ourselves!
