Opal
The Opal card can represent much more than what it appears to be. We’ve received many questions like, “But I don’t have children … what could this possibly mean for me?” This is a card that everyone can connect to because everyone was once a child themselves.
If you’ve drawn this card, consider the possibility that maybe the message is about your own inner child. The description Doreen gives for this card is about the Angels watching over your physical children, but your Angels and guides will use the cards on this site to send you messages that the author may not necessarily have originally meant. Although I do have a child myself, this card has been coming up in all my personal readings lately – ones that had nothing to do with my child. I kept asking what this was about and received a very clear message that this card was about healing my own inner child. I was blown away by what that meant regarding the questions I’d been asking. Even if we think we’ve healed from something, it’s possible that little person inside our hearts is not yet all the way healed. Children process pain differently. As we grow into adults, maybe we “heal” certain fears and traumas without realizing what we’re actually doing is hiding them somewhere deep inside.
This card is also strongly connected with Archangel Gabrielle’s energy, who is the Archangel of parenting, communication, nurturing (including self-nurturing). It makes sense that this message would not just be about parenting and nurturing your physical children but also the one within us.
If you do have children, also consider how healing your inner child (and helping him/her to know that she is safe and “well cared for by God and the angels”) will help you in your relationship with your own children.

whenever I get this card, My first thought is that it relates to my pets, my aged parents and my house, who i have always felt responsible for as if they are my children.

Yes that could be, it doesn’t necessarily have to be your own physical children. Pets are kids too for a lot of us I sure know they are for me. My kids tease me that I care more about “their brother” the dog, than them. He is my baby that is for sure. 🙂
Our parents as they age often times become child like again and need care. Ask the angels for more clarification if you are not understanding the message based on your question they will give you signs.

I drew this card over a facebook live reading with a reader who went to explain the meaning but the connection broke up.. I can relate to your explanation about my inner child..it makes sense as some healing is taking place now & also my children need healing ftom a family situation that effected us all. I also often feel that I am being watched over by my guides like a mother watches over her child. That’s often how I interpret these kinds of messages. But I like the idea of also being a parent/nurturer to a project or idea that is happening, maybe even yourself. Thank you for so openly sharing. I get this card often and have wondered exactly how to receive it. I have 5 children but find my greatest challenge in nurturing my own growth and development. I have no children and this card keeps appearing on my readings.
Even though you don’t have and never have had physical children, is there something you are nurturing and caring for like you would a child? Plans for something, an animal, friend or parent? Try looking at it metaphorically and see if something is there.
