Congratulations! We have all now arrived in the first month of the New Year 2015! This is a brand new year with a brand new energy that goes along with it!

Just to review briefly, 2014 was a Universal 7 Year. The 7 vibration is about contemplation, meditation and going within to discover our own Light. It was a very emotional energy and focused on the potential for resolution of our internal ego mind struggles. This is why we spent a good portion of 2014 purging old energies that were no longer in our Highest and Best interest to hold onto. The 7^th Major Arcana in the Tarot is the Chariot which is indicative of harnessing the opposing forces within us so that we may get ready to move forward into the outer world with confidence.

Now we are entering the year 2015 which has a Universal 8 vibration (2+0+1+5=8). This 8 vibration brings us out of the hidden depths of our subconscious and into the 3^rd dimensional reality of everyday living. This vibration focuses on our career and Life Path, our money and financial resources, and our sense of power. This is going to be a year of EMPOWERMENT! It will be a time where we see the imbalances in the power structures around us and within us! It is time for us to own our true power…..….our spiritual power………step into that power, own that power and use it in the most appropriate way for ourselves and all concerned.

The 8^th Major Arcana in the Tarot is up for debate. Some resources say it is the Strength card and some say it is Justice. I can see the argument for both in regards to the numerological 8 vibration. The Strength card in the tarot is about courage, willpower, desire, confidence and determination. This card is ruled by Leo, the Lion, and indicates the passion you have for life and the positive effects of gentle force, or using your creative force of power. The Justice card in the tarot is about balancing the scales of justice and is ruled by the air sign Libra. It also rules truth, fairness and wisdom and our ability to use sound judgment and discrimination. If you look at the symbolism associated with this card we have a woman holding a sword in one hand and the scales of justice in the other. The sword is a masculine energy and the scales represent the feminine principle. The number 8 if turned on its side is the infinity symbol and represents a balancing of the masculine and feminine energies, or in other words, gentle power. This year, if we allow it, we will become empowered!

The month of January is a Universal 9 Vibration so we are still in a phase of releasing the “old”………..we are at the end of a cycle and getting ready for this new “8” energy to fully take hold. If there are still situations and circumstances, relationships and partnerships, or thought processes and belief systems that have run their course, now is the time to let them go and open yourself to an exciting, new energy and a confident new beginning!

We start out the month with Mars in Aquarius opposing Jupiter retrograde in Leo on January 1^st. Creative energies and forward movement are indicated. We can put our energy into various ideas and directions that we would like to take, confer with others about possible projects, and take action that furthers our expansion into new areas of our career and/or Life Path.

On January 3^rd the Sun in Capricorn sets off the Pluto/Uranus square which continues to stay within orb until after the final, Pluto/Uranus square scheduled for March 2015. The Sun is our identity, and since it is in Capricorn it focuses on who we are out in the world…….our career, our chosen field, our Destiny Path. This time period will highlight transformation and changes in our projected ego-self and what we contribute to society. On the same day Venus, planet of relationships and finances, moves into the sign of Aquarius. Now we place more value on equality, humanitarian efforts, and group endeavors.

The next day, on January 4^th, the planet Mercury, ruler of all forms of information and communication, follows Venus into the sign of Aquarius. We are more connected to the Higher Mind, the God-Mind……..creative ideas flow more easily, our intuitions are heightened, and we have the ability to network with those of like-mind who share a common ideal for the good of all humanity. We also have the Moon in Cancer in a challenging aspect to Pluto, ruler of transformation, and Uranus, the planet of freedom and the unexpected, all leading up to the Full Moon at 14 degrees Cancer. This will be a powerful day! Expect the unexpected as the energies are unpredictable right now!

Then we move forward to January 12^th with Mars, planet of action, moving into the sign of Pisces. Mars is a fire planet and Pisces is a water sign so this combination can dissipate our physical energy and forward movement somewhat. It will be good for putting forth our efforts towards spiritual and artistic endeavors though. Use the Mars energy in a more creative way and you will see accomplishments being made.

On January 14^th and 15^th, depending on where you are in the world, Mars will be in a challenging relationship with Saturn in Sagittarius. You may feel a bit stifled with the unfolding of plans, working on projects, or with your physical energy at this time. Allow yourself to get extra rest if needed and do not push against the flow of energy.

Venus in Aquarius opposes Jupiter in Leo on January 19^th. This can be a very positive energy for working with others on creative ideas, humanitarian projects, and group endeavors. Also on the same day, Mars in Pisces will join Neptune, planet that rules, fantasy, illusion and the spiritual realm. This is very supportive for spiritual pursuits, meditation and out of body experiences, but you may find yourself a little ungrounded or lacking in physical energy so take care of yourself as needed.

The Sun will be moving into Aquarius in the early morning hours of January 20^th EST, followed by a New Moon at 0 degrees Aquarius a few hours later that day. Aquarius energy can be exciting, freedom oriented and unpredictable. We now have 4 planets in Aquarius: Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus so this Higher Mind energy is great for sending out our intentions to the Universe. New Moons are about new beginnings and Aquarius is like having a direct connection to God-Source Energies. Make sure your intentions are in the best interest of all concerned as this energy is focused on equality and circumstances of a humanitarian nature.

On January 21^st the planet Mercury is once again in his retrograde cycle starting at 17 degrees of Aquarius, although he went into his shadow period earlier this month on January 4^th. You may have already experienced his effects throughout this month, and since Aquarius rules computers and electronics specifically, you may find that you are having some challenges with internet, phones, cars, and all forms of data and communications. Mercury stays in the sign of Aquarius during this entire retrograde cycle going all the way back to 1 degree and turning to direct motion on February 11^th. This will be a good time to re-do, re-organize, re-work, re-view and re-search.

We have Venus changing signs once again, now moving into the sign of Pisces on January 27^th. Venus in this sign will be much more romantic, loving and compassionate. Our partnerships are highlighted and we will love, and fall in love much more easily. Venus will also be more colorful, altruistic and artistic in Pisces so working on projects of a creative or spiritual nature will have a natural flow and be much more productive.

We wind up the month astrologically on January 30^th with Venus in a square aspect to Saturn. In some parts of the world we will feel this on January 29^th as it is building in momentum. Relationships and finances may be temporarily challenged at this time. We may be more sensitive in matters of the heart, or perhaps we experience a difficulty with our money or resources at this time. Saturn here suggests that there is a lesson to be learned so open yourself up to what that might be and grow and learn from the situation. On the same day the Sun joins Mercury in Aquarius suggesting that independence and freedom energies are at play and that we must communicate our truth and act in an authentic way regarding circumstances in our life.

It is worth noting, as I mentioned earlier, that the Pluto/Uranus square which is about death and rebirth, change, transformation and redirection of energies both collectively and individually, is still within orb this month. During this month of January the Moon sets this configuration off four times as it moves through Cancer on January 4^th, Libra on January 12^th, Capricorn on January 19^th and Aries on January 25^th. On these days, and perhaps the day before and the day after, the above mentioned energies are highlighted bringing events and situations in our lives that support our evolution and growth as a soul.

I would also like to make mention of certain dates this month where there are opportunities for ideas, expansion, positive surprises, forward movement and growth in different areas of our lives that have the potential of taking place. These dates all correspond to sextile transits between two planets. A sextile is an aspect of “opportunity” but we must put forth an effort and take action to make something happen and to utilize the possibilities that the planetary energies hold for us. These dates, with some possible keywords of the energies, are as follows:

January 4^th: Venus sextile Saturn – Manifestation, money, values, freedom, equality and/or independence in relationships

January 5^th: Mercury sextile Saturn – Focused ideas, manifestation of intentions, productive communication

January 13^th: Venus sextile Uranus – Freedom, independence, new beginning and surprises in relationships or finances

January 13^th & 14^th: Mercury sextile Uranus – Brilliant ideas, heightened intuitions or psychic perceptions, channeling of information

January 22^nd & 23^rd: Sun sextile Saturn – Opportunities for truth, justice and freedom, independence of ego or Self

January 27^th & 28^th: Mercury sextile Uranus – Brilliant ideas, heightened intuitions or psychic perceptions, channeling of information

January 30^th: Mars sextile Pluto – Transformation of physical energies, passion, deep expression of sexuality and kundalini energies

I asked the angels what messages they wanted to give to everyone this month and this is the information they shared.

The angels start out by letting us know that it is safe for us to stand in our power. This will be a year of empowerment and first we have to recognize that we are, indeed, powerful spiritual beings and that it is ok to step into that power and use it in a positive way for the benefit of ourselves and all concerned.

A message that goes along with the previous, is to move forward into this New Year’s energy with confidence and assuredness as to who we are and where we are going on our Path! The angels are saying that we are Divinely Protected and Guided always……..God and the angels are assisting us all as we move into this new and empowering energy.

Keep every thought and every action focused on what your desires and intentions are. The power of manifestation will be stronger than ever and it is important to channel your energies towards what it is you wish to manifest as you move forward on your Path!

And lastly, our angels and guides ask that we open to the magic that is all around us. This is a month of transition into the new energy of 2015. The Universal 9 energy of January is about releasing the old energies of the previous year’s cycle before we fully step into the powerful energy of this year. It is also about Unconditional Love, compassion and tapping into the Divine Spiritual Energies of the Universe. Find the magic in where you are at this present moment…….see the blessings all around you………in your daily circumstances and situations…….in every relationship…….in all that you have and all that you are! This is a practice of being grateful and thankful and will produce and manifest even more blessings because this is what you are focused on.
