Goings On

So, summer is flying by! I know it might look like I’ve forgotten about my blog over the last couple of weeks, but I promise that I haven’t. In fact, I feel horrible that I haven’t posted, but there is a reason.

I have been insanely busy but not just with my work. The last few weeks, we have had friends in town from Georgia and California. We went on a mini trip to Mackinaw Island, which was awesome. I’ve always wanted to take my son there, especially since we read “Mayhem on Mackinaw Island” by Johnathan Rand. It was great! He loved riding the ferry and even made me ride on the top level in an oncoming storm on the way back to Mackinaw City. I never knew my hair could get so tangled!

Last week, we took a trip to the Toledo Zoo. We went last year for the first time and made a point to go this year, but it wasn’t as much fun this time. It was incredibly hot and busy. We couldn’t make it to everything this time. I started getting sick on the way home and was sick with a headache for the next two days. I think I’ve come to realize that I will probably have to pause my appointments every summer because my health is as fickle as the weather – literally.

I feel really badly that I’m not able to make scheduled appointments right now. Besides the weather and the headaches, construction is still going strong. I thought they were just about done. I don’t think they’ve really done anything over the last two weeks, but this week is back to lots of noise. Even without the construction, though, I just can’t promise appointments when I don’t know if I’ll be sick or not.

That is the other reason I haven’t been writing as much in my blog. I’m having a hard time knowing how many email readings to make available. Some weeks, I have them all done by Wednesday, and I offer more but it tends to take too long getting responses and I end up finishing up on the weekends. Or, I offer too many and then don’t have time for anything else. Feeling bad about not offering appointments means I usually offer too many email readings. I can’t do as many email readings as I did telephone sessions because they take quite a bit longer – both for the reading itself and administratively. So, if I seem to be neglecting my blog, I promise my thoughts are there. I’m probably overdoing it with email readings, though. 🙂

Next week, I will not be offering any email readings and do hope to answer a question in my blog. The Fowlerville Fair is next week, and this is sorta a big deal for my family. I know I can’t spend too much time out in the sun but do plan to go hopefully two days, and I may be paying for that decision the other days. Sun + Me = Not Good! 🙁

I hope everyone is doing well. I really miss not being able to actually talk to people on the phone, so I guess I can’t wait for fall.
