Francesca

Francesca invites you to think about what you truly want.
Not what other people expect from you.
Not what you think you should want.
Not what fear tells you is realistic.
But what you genuinely hope to create, experience, change, or move toward in your life.
Sometimes we become so focused on what we are trying to escape that we haven’t given ourselves much time to imagine what we would actually like to move toward.
This card asks you to turn your attention toward possibility.
What Do You Want Instead?
When something in our lives isn’t working, we usually know what we don’t want.
I don’t want to feel this stressed.
I don’t want to keep struggling financially.
I don’t want relationships that leave me exhausted.
I don’t want to feel stuck.
Those feelings matter. They can help us recognize that something needs to change.
But eventually another question becomes important:
What do I want instead?
Maybe you want greater peace.
More financial stability.
Relationships that feel mutual and safe.
Meaningful work.
More creativity.
Better boundaries.
A stronger spiritual life.
More time with people you love.
Or simply a life that feels a little more like your own.
You don’t need a perfect five-year plan.
Start with what you know.
Imagination Can Help Us Find Direction
There is value in allowing yourself to imagine a different future.
Not because visualizing something guarantees that it will happen.
And not because your thoughts magically control every circumstance around you.
They don’t.
Life is influenced by countless things beyond our control—other people’s choices, health, finances, opportunities, systems, timing, chance, and circumstances we never could have predicted.
But imagination can still be powerful.
When you can picture what you want, you may begin recognizing choices and opportunities that move you toward it.
You may notice what needs to change.
You may identify something you need to learn.
You may realize where a boundary is needed.
Or you may finally give yourself permission to pursue something you’ve quietly wanted for a very long time.
A vision doesn’t guarantee an outcome.
It can give you a direction.
Your Thoughts Matter, but They Don’t Cause Everything
This is important.
Positive thinking can sometimes help us feel hopeful, recognize possibilities, and approach problems differently.
But difficult things do not happen because you failed to think positively enough.
You did not create someone’s harmful behavior by worrying about it.
You did not cause an illness because your thoughts weren’t positive enough.
You did not attract every painful experience into your life.
And struggling emotionally does not mean you are blocking blessings from reaching you.
You are human.
You are allowed to be afraid.
You are allowed to have difficult days.
You are allowed to feel grief, anger, disappointment, or uncertainty.
Your spiritual life does not require you to police every thought that enters your mind.
Let Hope Become Something You Can Act On
Once you have a clearer idea of what you want, ask:
What part of this can I influence?
Perhaps there is one small step available.
Make the call.
Research the possibility.
Create a budget.
Fill out the application.
Write the first page.
Have the conversation.
Set the boundary.
Ask for help.
Learn something new.
Make the appointment.
Try again.
Or decide that something you’ve been pursuing no longer belongs in the future you’re trying to create.
Dreaming and doing can work together.
Leave Room for Something Different
Sometimes we become so attached to one particular outcome that we miss other possibilities.
You may know what you want without knowing exactly how it needs to arrive.
Perhaps the opportunity looks different than you imagined.
Perhaps the timeline changes.
Perhaps you discover that what you thought you wanted was actually pointing toward a deeper need.
You can have intentions without trying to control every detail.
You can pray for what you hope for while remaining open to possibilities you haven’t considered.
There is a difference between having a vision and demanding that life follow a script.
Bring Your Hopes Into Prayer
If something is on your heart, talk to the Divine about it.
You don’t need perfect words.
You might simply say:
Divine, this is what I hope for. Help me understand what is within my power to change. Help me recognize the opportunities, people, resources, and choices that may help me move forward. Give me wisdom when I need to adjust my plans, courage when I need to act, and peace with the things I cannot control.
Then participate in the life you’re asking for.
Pay attention.
Take reasonable steps.
Remain open.
And remember that your worth is not measured by whether every dream becomes reality.
A Gentle Question to Consider
If you stopped focusing for a moment on what you don’t want, what would you like to begin moving toward instead?
