When Compassion Needs to Travel Farther

When Compassion Needs to Travel Farther
Why I’m Doing the Compassion Kits for Her Project Differently This Time
by Rev. Sheri
Spiritual teacher, writer, and founder of Angel Messenger
There have been moments over the past year when someone reached out hoping to receive a Compassion Kit, only for me to realize they lived far outside my local area.
The kits I was creating were also too large and bulky to send in the mail.
And each time I had to say no, it stayed with me.
After 22 years of reaching people worldwide, I realized the compassion work needed to evolve alongside the community.
The messages come from many places.
The needs do too.
Over time, I realized I needed to find a way for compassion to travel farther.
A Different Approach to Compassion Kits
So this season, I am trying something different.
Instead of focusing only on larger local outreach projects, I am beginning to create smaller Compassion Kits for Her that can be shipped more affordably throughout the United States.
These kits may be simple, but they are created with care and dignity in mind — small reminders that someone sees you, that kindness still exists, and that compassion can still reach people in quiet and meaningful ways.
Sometimes support begins with practical things:
pads,
tampons,
lip balm,
small comforts that help someone feel cared for during a difficult season.
And sometimes what matters most is simply knowing that someone thought about you with kindness.
Why This Matters to Me
Angel Messenger has always been rooted in compassion.
Not only compassionate reflection, but compassion in action.
Over the years, I have heard from people navigating grief, exhaustion, financial hardship, uncertainty, loneliness, and moments where they simply needed to know they were not invisible.
While I cannot solve every situation, I do believe small acts of care matter.
I believe dignity matters.
I believe kindness matters.
And I believe even quiet acts of compassion can help remind people that they are not walking through difficult seasons entirely alone.
That is the heart behind this project.
Why This Project Is Personal to Me
As some of you may remember, this project is also deeply personal to me because I experienced period poverty myself as a young girl.
I remember the shame and embarrassment that often surrounded something that should never have felt shameful in the first place.
Becoming a young woman should not be connected to fear, humiliation, or feeling alone.
And while a small care package cannot solve every hardship, I do believe compassion matters.
Sometimes practical support and simple dignity can make a difficult season feel a little less heavy.
That belief has stayed with me for many years, and it is part of why this project continues to matter so deeply to my heart.
Compassion That Reaches Beyond My Local Area
I still plan to continue saving for outreach projects and group kits here in my local area as well. That part of this work still matters deeply to me.
The kits may simply evolve over time so we can reach more people with essential items and practical care.
This new approach allows Angel Messenger to respond more gently to the reality that our community extends far beyond one town or one state.
It may begin as a small project.
But many meaningful things begin small.
One package.
One act of care.
One reminder that compassion still exists.
Dove Notes and Gentle Reminders
And when compassion is sent into the world, small dove notes will be shared through our Angel Messenger Facebook page as gentle reminders that kindness is still moving quietly through this world, one person at a time.
No personal details will ever be shared.
Only small moments that remind us that light is still being carried forward.
I hope these dove notes become tiny reminders that even in difficult times, compassion continues to move quietly through ordinary people willing to care.
How to Support or Receive a Compassion Kit
As this new chapter begins, I will also personally match the first $200 donated toward supplies and shipping for the Compassion Kits for Her project.
My hope is that these small acts of kindness can help more girls and young women receive practical care, encouragement, and reminders that they are not alone.
If you would like to help support this compassion project, donations toward supplies and shipping help these care packages continue reaching those who may need encouragement and essential items during difficult seasons of life.

A Gentle Closing Reflection
I know this project will continue growing and evolving over time, and I am approaching it one small step at a time with compassion, care, and trust that even simple acts of kindness can still make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for being part of a community that believes compassion matters.
With steady light and compassion,
Rev. Sheri
