Kindness Is Not Always Softness

Kindness Is Not Always Softness
by Rev. Sheri
Spiritual teacher, writer, and founder of Angel Messenger
Recently, I have felt a deep grief in my heart.
Whenever stories surface of children or women harmed through the misuse of power, something in me aches.
As a woman who has lived through men misusing power, I do not take these stories lightly.
Anger rises — not as rage, but as a boundary.
It is the part of us that knows something sacred has been violated.
Kindness is not always softness.
Kindness protects.
Kindness refuses to normalize exploitation.
Kindness holds power accountable.
At Angel Messenger, we will always stand for the dignity of women and the protection of children.
We can grieve without feeding fear.
We can stand for justice without amplifying speculation.
We can hold steady without becoming hardened.
And so today, I offer this prayer:
May every girl and every woman who has been exploited be wrapped in protection.
May healing find the broken places.
May truth rise where silence once stood.
May hidden harm be brought fully into the light.
May justice move without obstruction.
May accountability be real and complete.
May every system that enabled harm be reformed.
And in our own lives, may we continue building spaces where vulnerability is honored and never exploited.
This is why we continue our work supporting women and girls through Compassion Kits and trauma-aware spaces of care. Protection is not just a statement — it is practice.
Justice may be slow, but it is not powerless.
Light exposes what darkness tries to hide.
