Vanessa appears when a decision may be asking you to look beneath the surface and consider what is truly influencing your choice.
Are you moving toward something because it feels loving, healthy, and aligned with who you are becoming?
Or are you making your decision primarily because you are afraid?
That sounds like a simple question, but the answer isn’t always simple.
Fear isn’t automatically bad, and choosing love doesn’t mean ignoring warning signs or pretending everything will work out perfectly.
The invitation of this card is to understand what is guiding you before you decide what comes next.
Fear Has Something to Say
Fear is part of being human.
Sometimes fear tries to protect us from embarrassment, rejection, disappointment, change, or uncertainty.
Sometimes it comes from something painful we’ve experienced before.
And sometimes fear is alerting us to a genuine problem.
So if you are afraid, don’t immediately assume that you need to push the feeling away.
Listen to it.
Ask:
What am I actually afraid of?
Is there evidence that this concern is real?
Is something happening that makes me feel unsafe or uncomfortable?
Am I responding to what is happening now, or to something that happened before?
Is fear helping me notice something important—or preventing me from doing something I genuinely want to do?
Understanding your fear can help you decide how much influence it should have.
Love Doesn’t Always Mean Saying Yes
We sometimes imagine that choosing love means being agreeable, forgiving immediately, giving another chance, staying available, or putting someone else’s needs before our own.
But love can look very different.
Love may say:
No.
Love may establish a boundary.
Love may require an honest conversation.
Love may ask you to leave a situation that is harming you.
Love may mean choosing your own well-being even when someone else doesn’t understand.
And sometimes love means accepting that you cannot rescue another person from choices they must make for themselves.
Choosing love does not require abandoning wisdom.
What Would You Choose Without the Pressure?
Sometimes it helps to temporarily remove everyone else’s expectations from the decision.
If you weren’t worried about disappointing someone, what would you want?
If you weren’t afraid of being judged
