Bridge of Light Guidance:
How Do I Trust My Intuition
When Fear Sounds Just as Convincing?
by Rev. Sheri Spiritual teacher, writer, and founder of Angel Messenger
Sometimes a quiet feeling rises within us, and we think, Was that guidance? A moment later, fear arrives with a list of reasons to doubt it. Both can sound convincing, especially when the decision matters to us.
This week’s Bridge of Light question is one many of us have carried:
How do I trust my intuition when fear sounds just as convincing?
Gentle Guidance
First, you do not have to judge yourself for feeling afraid. Fear often speaks loudly because it is trying to protect you. You can thank it for wanting to keep you safe while still giving yourself room to listen more deeply.
When a thought comes, try noticing what happens around it. Does it demand an immediate answer? Does it tell you that one uncertain step will ruin everything? Or does it leave room to breathe, ask questions, and move at a pace you can manage?
You may not know right away whether a feeling is intuition, hope, or fear. That is okay. Give yourself time. Pray, rest, gather the facts you need, and talk with someone you trust. Guidance can remain with you through that process. It does not need you to rush.
Then ask yourself: What is one small step I can take with honesty and care? You do not need to see the entire path to take that step.
Your Bridge of Light Card: You Are Light
The card drawn for this question is You Are Light. Its message reminds us that the light within us remains, even through pain and confusion. Its affirmation says:
“I am the light, and the light is me.”
If fear has made you doubt every feeling you have, this card offers a place to begin. Before you decide what a particular thought means, remember who is listening. You are a person worthy of patience, care, and Divine love. Fear may be present today, but it does not get to define all that you are.
You might imagine the card’s radiant light resting gently at your heart. Let it illuminate the next step without asking it to reveal every step after that. Sometimes trusting your intuition begins with trusting that you can pause, learn, and choose again.
An Affirmation
I can listen with patience. I can care for my fears and remain open to guidance. The light within me is still here.
A Supportive Sound
Try a few minutes of gentle instrumental music, or simply sit with the sounds around you. Let your breathing settle. There is no need to force an answer; give yourself a little space to hear what remains when the urgency softens.
A Crystal Companion
If you enjoy working with crystals, you might hold clear quartz during your reflection as a reminder to approach your question with openness and clarity. You can also use any small object that helps you feel grounded.
A Gentle Reflection
Think of a time you felt uncertain but took a thoughtful step anyway. What helped you move forward? What did you learn about your ability to care for yourself along the way?
If a decision is in front of you now, write down one question you need answered and one small action you can take to learn more.
May you feel the Divine’s love as you find your way. May you have room to pause, courage to ask for help, and peace enough to take the next step when you are ready.
Peace, Love, and Grace,
Rev. Sheri
