Bridge of Light Guidance – When Life Has Broken Your Heart More Than Once

Bridge of Light Guidance:
When Life Has Broken Your Heart
More Than Once

Opening Reflection
There are seasons in life that change us forever.
A marriage ends.
A relationship fractures.
A health crisis arrives without warning.
Financial security disappears.
People we love drift away or become strangers.
When enough losses arrive in a short period of time—or continue for years—it can begin to feel as though life is working against us.
We may find ourselves asking difficult questions:
Why is this happening?
Will things ever get better?
Am I being punished?
Am I cursed?
While every person’s story is unique, many people quietly carry layers of grief that others cannot see. They continue putting one foot in front of the other while their hearts are still trying to make sense of everything they have lost.
If you have been walking through a long season of heartbreak, uncertainty, or profound change, this week’s Bridge of Light Guidance is for you.
Reader Question
A reader writes:
“Over the past several years, I have experienced deep losses in many areas of my life. Relationships that meant everything to me have been damaged. My health has changed. My financial future feels uncertain.
I am struggling to hold on to hope. Sometimes I wonder if life is working against me, or if I am somehow cursed.
How do I keep going when so much has been lost? How do I find hope when I feel exhausted, heartbroken, and alone?”
Bridge of Light Guidance
Dear Friend,
As I sat with your question, one thing became very clear.
You have been carrying grief for a very long time.
Not one grief.
Many griefs.
The loss of trust.
The loss of relationships.
The loss of health.
The loss of financial security.
And perhaps most painfully, the loss of the future you once believed you would have.
When enough losses pile on top of one another, it is not uncommon to begin asking a difficult question:
“Am I cursed?”
Many people who have endured repeated heartbreak eventually wonder this.
But as I sat quietly with your words, I did not sense a curse.
I sensed exhaustion.
There is a difference.
A cursed person is being targeted by something outside themselves.
An exhausted person has simply been carrying more than one human heart was ever meant to carry alone.
And after years of heartache, it makes sense that your spirit would be tired.
About Relationships
One of the strongest feelings that came through was the depth of your love.
Even after everything that has happened, your heart is still reaching toward the people and connections that matter most to you.
When relationships become strained, broken, or distant, there is often a grief that others do not fully understand.
We are not only grieving the relationship itself.
We are grieving the memories, the hopes, the plans, and the future we imagined.
Unfortunately, we cannot force another person to see clearly before they are ready.
Sometimes truth unfolds slowly.
Sometimes people need their own experiences before they can recognize what was hidden from them.
That can be painful beyond words.
But love has a way of leaving fingerprints.
The care, kindness, and love we have shared with others often remain long after we can no longer see their effects.
About Your Future
You wrote that your health has changed and your future feels uncertain.
There may be truth in the feeling that some things will never be exactly as they once were.
Some experiences change us forever.
Some injuries alter the course of our lives.
Some losses leave permanent marks.
But there is another truth that sits beside that one:
You do not have to become who you were in order to discover who you might still become.
Healing is not always a return.
Sometimes it is a rebuilding.
Different.
Unexpected.
Slower than we would like.
But still meaningful.
Card Drawn: You Are Transforming
And then I drew a Bridge of Light card for you.
The card that appeared was You Are Transforming.
I smiled when I saw it because it felt like a beautiful confirmation of everything that had already come through in your guidance.
You wrote that life has changed so much that you barely recognize it anymore.
In many ways, that may be true.
Life has changed you.
Pain has changed you.
Loss has changed you.
But transformation is not always a sign that something has gone wrong.
Sometimes it is evidence that the soul is continuing to grow even when the heart feels broken.
The card reminds us that healing is not always about returning to who we once were.
Sometimes it is about becoming someone new—someone shaped by experience, softened by compassion, strengthened by perseverance, and wiser because of what they have endured.
The person you were before these losses is not returning.
But the person you are becoming has not fully arrived yet either.
For now, you do not need to know exactly what comes next.
You only need to trust that your story is still unfolding.
About Hope
Hope is often misunderstood.
Many people believe hope means being certain everything will work out exactly as they wish.
But true hope is something gentler than that.
Hope is choosing to believe that today’s circumstances are not the final chapter of your story.
It is trusting that healing can still happen, that new possibilities can still emerge, and that life can still hold meaningful moments you cannot yet see.
You do not need to know how everything will unfold in order to have hope.
You only need to leave a little room for the possibility that the future may contain more light than your present circumstances suggest.
A Gentle Reflection
For a moment, set aside the questions you cannot answer.
Set aside next year’s worries.
Set aside the pressure to figure everything out.
Ask yourself:
What is one small act of kindness I can offer myself this week?
Not next month.
Not after everything is fixed.
This week.
Because your heart has spent a very long time waiting for circumstances to change before allowing itself a little peace.
Perhaps part of your healing begins when you become willing to offer a little of that peace to yourself.
A Prayer
Dear heaven,
Please surround this dear soul with comfort and strength.
Help them remember that repeated hardship is not proof that they are cursed, forgotten, or unworthy of love.
Bring light into places that have felt dark for a very long time.
Help them trust that truth has a way of finding its own path, even when they cannot see it yet.
Guide them toward the people, resources, opportunities, and support they need for the road ahead.
And when hope feels far away, hold a little hope for them until they can find their own again.
Amen.
