Many Native tribes in North America use sweetgrass in prayer, smudging or purifying ceremonies. Sweetgrass has a sweet scent and is called the breath of the Earth mother. Bringing the blessings of love from the Earth Mother. Sweetgrass is burned to remind us of the essence of the feminine and that the earth provides us with everything we need. Bringing in sweet blessings to your sacred space. Can be lit directly or burned on a charcoal tablet.

Smudging has been used by Native Americans for thousands of years for cleansing and purifying oneself and others as well as an area of space. This is a sacred practice and should be treated as such.
