Everyday Self-Care Rituals for Love and Healing

from our Angel Messenger Creative Team

Most women make time for everyone except for themselves. Can you relate to that? If yes, then, let me tell you that taking care of yourself is the most important thing you can do not only for yourself but also for your loved ones. After all, can you really pour from an empty cup? How can you truly be there for others if you yourself aren’t feeling good!

Another sad phenomenon I have noticed amongst women is that they feel guilty about taking time out for themselves. Somehow, society has deeply implanted this idea in our minds that people who spend time taking care of themselves are narcissists who don’t care about others. The truth can’t be further away from this because only a content and happy person can truly give happiness to others.

You are Beautiful and Perfect

Every woman deserves to feel beautiful and gorgeous in her own skin. You are the most amazing person in this world. You are stunning and incredibly beautiful exactly the way you are. Don’t let anyone else tell you anything else.

If you want to give love to others, then, start by first giving love to yourself. I’m going to suggest some self-care rituals in this article that you can imbibe in your routine. Just don’t forget that the world outside is only a reflection of the world inside. If you love yourself unconditionally, then, it will also be easier for you to love others unconditionally. You can heal all your relationships and circumstances by first healing yourself.

Daily Self-Care Rituals

Oil Massage

Give yourself a vigorous oil massage early in the morning. In Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of holistic health and healing, there is a lot of importance given to daily oil massages. These messages are meant to be done by oneself as touching your own body deepens your connection with it and helps you build a deeper appreciation of all the work it does for you. Over time, you also become more sensitive to everything that your body tells you about your health and well-being.

According to Ayurveda, this massage must be done in the early morning around the time of sunrise using sesame oil. There are many herb infused sesame oil blends available in the market. By doing this massage in the morning, you are not only toning your muscles and nourishing your skin but also facilitating a powerful detoxification process. If you can make this a part of your morning routine, then, your skin will surely glow and remain supple. You will also feel like a million bucks every day.

Exercise

Incorporate some form of physical exercise in your life. It can be gentle or intense based on your physical capacity and personal inclinations. The best time to exercise is in the early morning. Do this before your daily oil massage. If you are doing a gentle form of exercise, then, you can also apply the oil and do your exercise while the oil is getting absorbed into your skin. Just make sure that you don’t slip.

Gratitude Journal

I highly recommend maintaining a daily journal. I suggest that you start your day by writing 3 things you are grateful for on that day. Try to come up with something new every day. Also, make sure that at least 2 out of the 3 things are something small that can easily be taken for granted. For instance, you could be grateful for the fact that you have two legs to walk with. It could also be something as small as having a pen to write with or a window to look out from.

Love Letter to Self

Every day, write a love letter to your own self. It doesn’t have to be long – just something from the heart.

Write down everything you love about yourself – shower a generous amount of appreciation for yourself. Most of us are our own worst critic. We are really good at finding faults in ourselves but really bad at accepting compliments. Love and appreciate yourself first. You will be surprised that it will also become very easy to see the best in others and appreciate their good qualities!

Stick to a Routine

Your body loves discipline. If you can go to sleep, wake up, and eat at the same time, then, it will become very easy for you to remain healthy. An erratic schedule is very demanding on the body.

Maintaining a consistent timetable helps the body in remaining conscious of what it can expect every day and at what time. If you can sync your body’s timetable with that of nature, then, it will benefit you even more.

I suggest waking up before or around the time of sunrise. Eat a light breakfast after exercising, oil massage, and morning bath/shower. Take your lunch around noon – do the most mentally/physically demanding work between 10-3pm. Try to finish your workday by 6 pm and build a relaxing routine for the evening.

Eat only a light dinner around sunset (or at least by 7 pm). Stay away from bright lights in the evening and use only gentle soothing lighting around the house post 7 pm. Maintain a proper electronic cut off time. It would be ideal if you can stop using all your digital devices after 7 pm. Don’t switch them on until you have had your breakfast the next morning (if you can resist it that long –  I highly recommend that you do). Try to go to bed by 10 pm.

Give Yourself a Gift

A lot of times we spend money on others but feel guilty about buying anything for ourselves. I want you to understand that you are the most important person in the world for you. Hence, give yourself a special gift at least once every week.

Once you start enjoying this gifting ritual, then, you can also do it much more frequently. There are no rules to this except to make yourself feel loved and cared for.

This gift can be anything from taking the time to prepare your favorite meal and truly savoring it to buying that expensive sweater you had been eyeing for ages (if it fits into your budget at the moment). The point is to think about what you truly want and to let yourself have it.

Just remember that you deserve to feel loved and pampered!

P.S. This article is the ninth in a new project we are working on called “Beauty“. Our team has decided that it is vitally important to help bring beauty into the world in whatever way we can and to help others to do the same. For now, we have several articles planned to publish on this topic but are of course open to where Spirit may lead us. We hope that you will follow our project and that it helps you.

Much Love & Angel Blessings,

I love this article! It’s so true that we always look after everybody else before we look after ourselves, when we are the most important person in our lives!
And I love even more that Angel Messenger has a ‘Beauty’ project.
I’ve recently been working with the Angel of Beauty for the last few months to help me in my relationship – help me release harsh judgements about my physical body & influence my partner to see my beauty other than the physical.
Having had a left breast mastectomy 18 mths ago, complications have prevented me from having reconstructive surgery until now, which has allowed low self-esteem to rule.
The Angel of Beauty has brought me to the point of realisation that I need to leave my partner for my own soul’s healing & protection – self nurturing & self love being the love & beauty I need most now. While it’s only been a week, since I left & I’m already feeling more beautiful than I have for years!!
Bring on the Beauty project!! We all need reminders & tools that help us remember our divine beauty in practical positive ways!
What a great way to help us honour the Divine Feminine in us as individuals & add to the healing and balancing of feminine energy in the collective consciousness.
