Schedule May Change

Okay, so I know this isn’t much notice, but I just found out myself. I received a letter in the mail stating that work will begin this coming Monday on my street.  The city, along with Consumers Energy, is planning on replacing gas and water mains as well as reconstructing the street surface.  They expect work to continue into August.

What does this mean?  Well, I’m not entirely sure yet.  I have left a message with someone at the city, so I hope to hear back from them soon.  My concern is that this will greatly affect my ability to offer appointments basically now through August.  Obviously, it would not be a conducive environment to conduct telephone or in-person readings while work is going on outside.  Not only would it be disruptive to the conversation, but I would have difficulty concentrating.  My other major concern is that I suffer from humidity induced migraines during the summer.  Even with the air conditioning on in my home, I can still be affected.  With noisy construction and the possibility of losing power (and therefore air conditioning), summer is not looking to be a good time for me.  That would also mean appointments would be affected due to my illness.

I have been feeling nudges from my guides to take the summer off from appointments, but I really didn’t want to do that, and I certainly wasn’t going to make that decision right now.  I had considered offering appointments through the end of June, but I was even fighting with myself over that.  As of right now, I do not know how my appointments or health will be affected by the work being done around my home.  I will have to post later with details and a real plan.  For now, I wanted to let my clients know that things may be changing with my schedule.  If I am not able to offer telephone and in-person sessions for the next few months, I will offer more email readings instead.  The reason my guides have been pushing me to take some time away from appointments is because I have several projects I want to work on, but my schedule is too heavy right now to really take time for anything but appointments.

I’m guessing they won’t be able to work in the rain, and the weatherman is predicting rain every day for the next 10 days (except today .. It’s beautiful out today!)  So, I hope next week’s appointments will be okay.  If you have a session scheduled for next week, I will contact you right way in the event I believe your appointment will be affected.

I guess for now I am asking for patience and understanding from my clients.  My appointment availability is likely going to be affected by upcoming events, and there’s not a whole lot I can do about it.  Though, that doesn’t mean I’m all that happy about it.  😉

Peace and Blessings,

Oh my! Two years, Margo? I really hope it’s only until August, as they say. There are guys outside my window marking the water mains right now. They are working in the rain, so I hope that means they’re dedicated to getting the job done. 🙂

Nada, I’m sorry you have to deal with all that noise. There’s no way I could handle that. My hearing is very sensitive. I have a park and a the beautiful Red Cedar River within walking distance of my home. I’m planning on spending some extra time there. 🙂

So far today, the road crew has not started grinding up my street. They’ve been working on the street beside me, I think. My house has been shaking from time to time. Oh … hold on …. yep they’re doing something now. Hmmm … they are laying down some kind of dirt path? What’s that about I wonder? Interesting.

I live right beside a store with delivery trucks in and out all day and night and a double track where trains going in opposite directions pass so know what noise can do to your, daily life and sleep patterns, sometimes when a train is coming to a halt the sound of the train cars slamming into each other makes me jump start out of a sweet dream at 4 am. This might be a good time to disconnect the puter and reconnect with other things mabe make outside trips to park etc to get away from the noise which can really do a number on nerves after awhile. I too hope the work goes fast and well and look forward to more blogs. I’ll trade you my every day noise and pollution for your however long street job lol.

    Dear Rev. Sheri,

Hope this all works out ok. What a pain that can be. We had a streetscape project that has lasted nearly 3 years (yes, 3 YEARS) with them replacing sewer system, resurfacing roads and replacing sidewalks. The main road through our town was shut down in one direction for two years.(grrr) They reopened it a couple months ago, thankfully. Hope your project goes A LOT better and faster! 🙂
