The tragedy that struck Connecticut on Friday is one that we will not soon forget.  There was no hurricane, no force of nature that could not be stopped.  No, this was a disturbed young man who made a choice to murder innocent children.  As a mother myself, I was enraged and heartbroken at the news.  How could a human being choose to do such a thing?  And, how do we move on from something like this?

For many of us, we didn’t know these innocent children.  We didn’t know the principal and the teachers who tried to save them.  But, we feel this pain and ugliness.  All across our nation, hearts have wept over this darkness and tragedy.  We light candles and pray for each individual soul that they might find peace and be okay, and we pray for the families left behind.  We promise to remember and honor them.

What is the best way to remember and honor those who have been lost?  We allow their light to shine through us!  For the families and those more closely connected, this might not yet be possible.  Do honor your feelings, allowing yourself time to grieve and heal.  For the rest of us, it is very important that we shift our focus.

Do not be brought down by the energy of this shadow and the person who caused it.  Instead, fill up your heart and soul with love for those who are no longer with us and compassion for those left behind.  A nation shrouded by shadow and grief is a powerful thing, but it’s the wrong kind of power – the wrong kind of energy.  A nation filled with love and compassion is a much more powerful and needed energy.

Spread your love and compassion to others and set that power free; overcome this shadow.  Allow the light of the innocent to shine within you.  Hear their laughter and see their smiles.  Know they have been welcomed into Heaven with open arms.

When I was trying to select an Angel card of the day to post on Facebook this morning, nothing seemed to fit.  I wasn’t feeling love from any of the cards because my own heart was so burdened.  I finally just said, “What card do you want me to post today?”  Adriana fell out of the deck.  I was struck by the image of a beautiful Angel leading two small children up a set of stairs.  The message was one of answered prayers, and I was immediately reminded of my prayers from yesterday where I lit candles and prayed for each individual person and their families.  And I heard laughter ….

My heart was lifted up and I knew these souls had found peace.  The love and compassion of the innocent surrounds us all and lifts our nation and our world during this time of great change, this incredible shift in energy.  May we remember and honor them by reflecting that light as best we can.

Love, Peace & Blessings,

Sheri

Having lost a child of my own three years ago, I know the pain these parents are going through. You never expect to bury your child. With that child goes your hopes and dreams for their future, all the things you will never get to see, the grandchildren you will never have. (Our son was an only child). I have found peace in knowing my son is still with me in many ways and that he is with his grandmother and all his other family members in heaven. I look forward to the day when we can all be together again.
