“Have you ever read for a celebrity? If you have, were you nervous? … Doesn’t what you know about them interfere with the reading?”

This is a question that I recently received by email, and the answer is yes. I have read for a few celebrities, but I usually didn’t know who they were until the end of the reading. If I had known they were famous, I might have been nervous – yes! :) I avoid the news and celebrity gossip as if it were the plague, so my mind isn’t clogged up with garbage when I read for celebrities. That’s a good thing, but it also makes it so I really don’t know many celebrities. I guess that’s also a good thing because then they don’t have to worry about the reading being biased. I vaguely remember one person being a little surprised that I didn’t know them, but that’s really never anything to feel offended by. Honestly, even when I meet people in-person, I usually don’t recognize them by phone – by name or voice. Even if I see a person again face to face, I might think they look familiar but usually won’t be sure why. A person’s energy might feel familiar to me, but then again that has nothing to do with being famous. Your soul is your soul, and that’s what I connect to. Just like a reading for anyone else, I don’t need to know whether or not a person is a famous celebrity to read for them. Sure, things might come up in the reading and I’ll figure it out on my own, but that’s okay. Again, it’s better for the client to know the reading isn’t based on knowing things about them already. When I schedule an appointment, I only put down the person’s first name, telephone number, length of session and the time zone they are in.

But, just so we all know, I would get very nervous and probably unable to read if “The Rock” (Dwayne Johnson) called me and introduced himself then asked for a reading. Okay, don’t laugh! Let me explain … A few years back, before my husband and I were married, we used to hang out with a group of friends that loved wrestling and would have parties for all the PPV events. I liked wrestling only for The Rock. Maybe I should be embarrassed to admit that, but I guess it’s okay. ;) In my opinion, he is very good looking … a very nice man … and maybe I had a dream about him once or twice or …

Okay, so I don’t have such an insane crush on Mr. Johnson anymore. I’m just too busy and haven’t followed his career enough to have said crush. But, at the time I did think he was “all that”, I saw him on Saturday Night Live (I think.). The man can sing, and I’ve always been a sucker for a cute guy with a voice like velvet. Is that too much to share? Oh well, I’m in mood to be funny today I guess.

Back to the topic … I do want to say that celebrities really aren’t so different from the rest of us. They have similar problems and similar needs. Unless we need to talk about the particular event or career or circumstance that makes them a celebrity, I wouldn’t know the difference. Even once I do know, I really just view them as another person. I’ve read for millionaires … celebrities … religious leaders … politicians … people are very much the same know matter what title they are given. If they’ve come to me, then they need what I offer for a reason, and it’s my job to put aside anything I may or may not know about them and just listen, feel and see for them. Many times the titles we are given by others do not define us at all. Even the most famous celebrity is usually someone completely different than the media thinks them to be … a person not so different from us living in a world maybe just a bit different than ours. :)

I hope this answers your question.

Blessings & Light,

Sheri
