Over the past few weeks, Angel Messenger has experienced some attacks by internet hackers.  Though we do have the best company in the industry protecting our website visitors from Malware, this particular person or group of people was attempting to log into the administration panel of our website.  Using more than 100 different IP addresses from all over the world (including the US), they tried to log in more than 15,000 times.  The effect of this was that the Angel Messenger website shut down completely.  We couldn’t even log into our own site.

Since this happened, our security software blocked all the IP addresses that were being used in attempting to hack the site.  With the number of visitors we receive on a daily basis reaching above 10,000 per day now, it is possible that some of the blocked IP addresses could have also been real website visitors.  However, all the IP addresses that were blocked were ones specifically reported as trying to log into the admin only section of the site.

If you are getting a message that says you are forbidden from accessing certain areas of the website, it is possible your IP address could be on our list.  If this is the case, please contact us.  However, we cannot guarantee that your IP address will be automatically unblocked.  So far, we have had two real website visitors contact us regarding their IP addresses – one from the United States and one from France.  I will also be posting this notice on Facebook and in my newsletter as I’m assuming someone blocked from the website may not be able to see this post.  😉

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we try to find the best solution to preventing this issue in the future.  Have a great day!
