Hello everyone!  My husband just sent me an interesting article that he found regarding the beliefs Americans have when it comes to guardian angels.  The article talks about how most Americans believe in guardian angels, and many believe to even have been saved by one.  One thing that does bother me a little is that their research revealed that a lower percentage of those making over $150,000 per year held the same beliefs.  I don’t believe that the more financially secure members of our society believe less in angels and would be interested to know how they decided which cross-section of Americans to interview; I can tell you that many of my clients are in this range, and they most certainly believe angels!  If I had been the one to conduct this survey, the results would have been much different I’m sure.  You see, it just depends on who is interviewed.

There’s one part of the article where the assumption is made that maybe people are more likely to believe in angels because of the commercialism of angelic products being that “guardian angels … are just so darned attractive that they exist in a charmed belief niche of their own”.  Urg!

Okay, on with what I did like … I’ve always found it interesting that many people and religions beleive in the power of angels and the miracles of the Bible but also believe that those historic events no longer happen today.  As the article says, “On one end of the spectrum of American religion are the analytical churches, on both the right and the left theologically and politically, which are primarily concerned with establishing Biblical principles to live by — and are suspicious of any modern-day irruption of the supernatural into religious life. Their miracles all took place in the Bible.”  So, why is that?  This is one of my favorite questions to ask people when they tell me that I must be “not right in the head” or something for doing the work I do.  Is it really so hard to believe that angels can speak to us today?  Well, I also believe they speak to you!  Hmmm … maybe I am a little crazy.  LOL  🙂

Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful weekend!

Angel Blessings,

Rev. Sheri
